“The Republican National Committee doesn't want to hear from people who are upset over its thuggish tactics at Town Hall meetings. The DNC launched an ad, Enough of the Mob, which asked people to call the RNC. Heard from readers, Tim Beauchamp and ShirleyGoodnessandMercy, that the RNC is dumping those who call about the ad. Tim writes:

If you call the number listed in the ad: 202-863-8500 the message suggests "Please press 1 if you are calling in response to DNC ad" and then you are eventually dismissed or hung up on. Callers need to call and press option "2" to keep from being dismissed.

So, if you're calling, press 2.
I've also heard the RNC is trying to send those call back to the DNC. Bottom line: No one from the RNC wants to explain their position. Can you blame them? They've chosen to side with the insurance companies over patients and doctors. And, their whole strategy seems to be one of intimidation. That's all they've got at the RNC.”

  I should have known where the crazy story about the Cars for Clunkers being a government plot to take over your computer and your entire life came from… How could I have not known.  There is only one person that crazy and it is Glenn Beck again.

  I wrote here before about how he is a total mental subject.  Fox “news” needs to take him off the air.  I am not saying fire the guy and make him and his family homeless.  I am saying they should pay him when he is in the mental hospital and when he gets out and takes his medication they could put him back on the air.
  He is going to hurt someone or he is going to  hurt himself.  
 
  No one should even have to tell you that his crazy story is wrong wrong and just plain nuts.
  He lies first off …the log on screen is NOT on the login page for you and I.  He is talking about a log on screen for DEALERS, not even on cars.gov, that is for DEALERS intending to enter into a government financial system. 
  The log in screen he is talking about is at: supplierpayments.esc.gov
 
  Now the wording of the warning is a bit strong but they are attempting to keep people from stealing money out of your pocket and my pocket.

Here is the entire wording of the warning and keep in mind you and I can not log into the site.  It requires a number name and password.

“This application provides access to the DoT CARS system. When logged on to the CARS system, your computer is considered a Federal computer system and is the property of the United States Government. It is for authorized use only. Users (authorized or unauthorized) have no explicit or implicit expectation of privacy.

Any or all uses of this system and all files on this system may be intercepted, monitored, recorded, copied, audited, inspected, and disclosed to authorized CARS, DoT, and law enforcement personnel, as well as authorized officials of other agencies, both domestic and foreign. By using this system, the user consents to such interception, monitoring, recording, copying, auditing, inspection, and disclosure at the discretion CARS or the DoT personnel.

Unauthorized or improper use of this system may result in administrative disciplinary action and civil and criminal penalties.

Unauthorized attempts to defeat or circumvent security features, to use the system for other than intended purposes, to deny service to authorized users, to access, obtain, alter, damage, or destroy information, or otherwise to interfere with the system or its operation are prohibited. Evidence of such acts may be disclosed to law enforcement authorities and result in criminal prosecution under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986 (Public Law 99-474) and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act of 1996 (Public Law 104-294), (18 U.S.C. 1030), or other applicable criminal laws.”

  We all are used to this type of wording.  It is the sort of statements you have to sign when you do business with the government.  They try and scare the hell out of you and make sure they got all their ass covered so if you do something wrong they can come back and nail your ass and you can not say in court but it did not say this or that.
  It is sort of the same type of crap you have to “Agree to” when you buy a DVD or CD or a program except it is from a private company and we all just break the seal and agree to their stupid terms.
