Dare to go bare in skinny-dip record attempt

June 16, 2009

By Jim Feehan

A nudist park south of Issaquah (WA) is participating in a national skinny-dip record attempt next month and you can join in.

Fraternity Snoqualmie Family Nudist Park is one site hosting the American Association for Nude Recreation event, The AANR Largest Skinny-dip Across North America.

The event will take place at noon July 11 at the park’s swimming and wading pools. Guinness World Records has agreed to create a new category for the largest number of people simultaneously skinny-dipping.

“This is a perfect excuse for anyone wanting to be nude in public for the first time,” said Dawnzella Gearhart, spokeswoman at Fraternity Snoqualmie. “People can say they’re participating in a world-record attempt.”

Fraternity Snoqualmie is a 40-acre park on the side of Tiger Mountain. Photo identification is required for admittance to the park. Children are welcome if accompanied by their parents. First-time visitors receive a complimentary one-day membership, Gearhart said.

Organizers expect between 500 and 600 people during the record-setting attempt that occurs the same weekend as Fraternity Snoqualmie’s Bare Buns Fun Run.

According to Guinness guidelines, participants must be completely nude during the skinny-dip in order to be counted. Swimmers may wear their suits when entering the water, but they must remove them and hold their suits overhead at the signal from the official that the event has begun. After the event, they can put their suits back on before leaving the water.

As with all Guinness World Records events, all record attempts must be witnessed by a designated member in standing of the local community.

The witness does not have to be nude to authenticate the event, she said.

A photographer will record the event and participants will need to sign a form indicating their likeness will be published.

“If someone doesn’t want to be photographed, they could turn around,” Gearhart said.

Some people have misgivings about swimming in the nude.

“Some people are afraid to be nude and they want to cover up their naughty parts, but we’re not afraid to be nude,” Gearhart said. “We’re happy to be in our own skin.”

Big Bar-B-Q at Boston Zoo Soon? PDF Print E-mail

“BOSTON -- The Franklin Park Zoo, the only Boston institution of its kind, may be forced to close and euthanize some of its animals, zoo officials said Friday.

Without more state funding, zoo officials said that they will run out of money within months and have to close both Franklin Park and the Stone Zoo in Stoneham.

The zoos would be forced to lay off most of their 165 employees and attempt to find new homes for more than 1,000 animals.

Zoo officials estimated 20 percent of the animals would not find homes and could be euthanized…”

This is just more more thing that we have to thank President Bush and the GOP for doing for the nation…All over the United States cities and states do not have money to pay for basic services.  It is the same here in Miami and in all of FL.
Part of the blame for this goes back to the start of the no tax movement.  It started, if I remember correct, in CA.  I knew at the time that it was a bad idea but it was very popular and spread all across the United States and it still has major support.  It also became part of the GOP platform and movement.  It has been bad for the United States.
Now tax reform was needed and government did need some controls and changes put on it…but the entire movement just became an anti-government right wing fuck the system revolt.
CA, where it started, has been suffering for years and right now CA is giving people they should be paying IOUs.  Many of those businesses will go under and then they will not be paying taxes and the employees will not be paying taxes and will need help from the state.  It is just one sad fucked up mess that we can thank the right wing Republicans for giving us.
Now it looks like they will be the cause of killing zoo animals.  Just one more reason that President Bush is the worst president of all time and that fewer and fewer people now say they are a Republican.

We have got to stop letting people get our vote by not talking about issues and by not being honest with us.  The Republicans had this system down pat.  They just used buzz words and said the things that would get them elected and it worked for a time.  We are paying for it now.  Looks like little fuzzy zoo animals will pay for it now.

The First Blogger by with Scott Rosenberg PDF Print E-mail

Scott Rosenberg, author of the new "SAY EVERYTHING", goes on a quest to track down the primal blogger. In SAY EVERYTHING, Rosenberg chronicles bloggings unplanned rise and improbable triumph, tracing its impact on politics, business, the media, and our personal lives.

Should I tell him who invented blogging?
No, I do not think he cares.  If you have an idea who invented blogging his blog is:    say everything

I made the following video in August of 2007 and posted it on YouTube at that time.  It tells how I invented the blog and my feeling about who is the father of blogging.

Florida Panhandle warned of tropical storm threat PDF Print E-mail

(CNN) --“ A warning was issued overnight for a potential tropical storm that may hit the Florida-Alabama border Sunday. It formed in the eastern Gulf of Mexico, according to the National Hurricane Center…”

From the satellite image it looks like it will miss this area (Miami).  I feel lost with out my ham radio.  I do have a scanner (radio) so I can listen to the nets but I can not transmit.
I had an excellent ham radio and I sold it.  That was stupid of me.  From now on I am not selling a radio.  If I get a new one I will just keep the old one.  I find myself now without any radio.
Part of the problem is I wanted and was planning on getting a Yaesu FT-60R.  It is a 5 watt heavy duty dual band FM hand held radio.  I joined online user group and I downloaded the manual.  It was just what I wanted. The cost was only $200.00 and I could come up with that if I just skip eating a couple of weeks.
Then the company came out with the Yaesu VX-8R.  It is a tri-band transceiver with GPS/APRS operation and it does everything else.  I love that radio and now I want it.  I MUST have it.  But it cost $370.00 and I would have to sell a vital organ to afford it. Anyone want to buy a kidney?  JUST KIDDING – Smile.
If I got the VX-8R I would want some of the optional add on stuff.  Take a look at them with the above link.  Some of the add on units cost as much or more than the FT-60R radio.  I am not sure I can afford to be a ham radio operator.  Smile

Right now there are four storms heading in this direction.  I am  not very smart… I am not worrying about food or anything… I just feel lost without a ham radio.  Smile
